    Plasma TV
Installation
OK, so
you’ve bought yourself a state-of-the-art plasma TV and now
comes the time for plasma TV installation. If you are handy
with tools and wish to have your new pride and joy wall
mounted, then performing the task yourself will save you
money. If, on the other hand, you’re an inept carpenter,
then plasma TV installation is best done by a professional.
The other option is to use the table stand that came with
the unit. For those that want to mount the unit on the
living room wall and intent to do the job yourself, then
you’re first of all going to have to decide which wall is
the best. If you choose a will that gets too much sunlight,
then you’re going to have to close the window curtains
whenever you want to watch TV during the daylight hours. The
ideal wall would be one that doesn’t get blinded by the sun,
but at the same time isn’t a dark, dank part of the
room.
Ideally
having the TV positioned so that it can be viewed from the
kitchen, is another good idea. The next step is to purchase
(unless you received one with the TV) a TV wall mount. Prior
to performing your plasma TV installation on your living
room wall, you are going to have to find where the wall
studs are located. The days of lightly banging along the
wall with a hammer are over, nowadays a device known as a
“stud finder” will aid in your search. It is, of course,
important to mount the monitor on the wall studs as they
will easily take the weight on the TV. People that mount
their TV on the wall also want all cables and other wiring
kept out of sight. Most wall mounts, these days, allow you
to insert cables and wires into the mount itself. This can
either be an easy operation or one that requires a great
deal of work – it all depends on the type of mount you
purchase. Make sure that your wall mount and TV are level
before you secure every nut, bolt and screw permanently. No
one enjoys watching a screen that is not
straight.
The easiest
type of plasma TV installation is, of course, to set the TV
up on the table stand that is usually provided with the
unit. This will take mere minutes and if you’re not a
skilled handyman (or woman) you’ll not be pulling your hair
out in frustration trying to screw a wall mount into
position. Table stands for plasma TVs are very solid and
easily set up. Cable management may mean that you will need
to purchase addition accessories. Plasma TV installation is
not such a complicated task, just use sensible judgment and
if you insist on doing a wall installation yourself, make
sure you have someone to help and that you only perform what
you are truly capable of doing.
